This is Castro Marina where I live... our roof is actually visible in these postcards! As you can see the sea is FABULOUS!

Graffiti

These funny little fish swim on walls and fences here. Someone has been painting them allover the place, and even though it's illegal graffiti, I really think they're cute and they make me smile!!! I'll keep photographing them as they appear in front of me. Often they are on tiny country roads, so I've told my kids to hunt for them too!
And while driving around I saw this one and ofcourse it had to be photographed too!!!

Waiting for the bell to ring!

Sat in my car under an olive tree, waiting for the school bell to ring... this was the view, and the temperature was 30°C... poor kids in school for three more weeks!!! One can imagine how hard it is to go to school when this sea is waiting for you!!! =)

Minerva's school, Castro

This is Castro's elementary and middle school. As always in Italy, it doesn't look too inviting!

This is the huge bird-cage with lots of parakeets...

      And there are some flowers...

      And the sea is just down the street!

Unfortunately not great weather today, so kind of grey pictures... but someone insisted that I take them!!! =)

And this one of the two cafes on the other side of the street... lovely place to have a capuccino and watch passers-by!

Why my cave man is a cave man

The land around Castro is full of caves, all sorts of caves. I live with a speleologist and expert photographer of these caves, so ofcourse he is my caveman!

This is the Zinzulusa cave... one of the few that can be visited by us all.

My LYS

My LYS is in Maglie (LE) ,about 18km from Castro, and it's tiny, it's messy and it's full, but Maria Antonietta will find anything and everything. She has a storage room in the back, which is off-limits, but must be an incredible place because she disappears in there, and comes out with arms full of yarn!
