My mother's ring

My mother has always had a ring on her finger, her grandmother's confirmation ring... now she has lost so much weight that she was afraid of losing it, so she gave it to me. I now wear it together with my own ring.

I started knitting this because I needed something totally mindless to knit, lots of knit stitches, on and on. 

I must admit I was a bit skeptical as I knit, since it seemed very narrow in the narrow end but I knit on, looking at other people's projects on Ravelry.

As soon as I finished it I had to try it on... and IT WORKS!!!

It can be worn as a hoodie-poncho, as a shawl, and as anything in between! Very very pleased!

Another accident... or two

Sunday... one should not use sharp knives while thinking about things that make one angry.

I cut mine preparing lunch and hubby cut his cutting an apple after lunch.

Not the most brilliant thing I've ever done ...

Accident

In March the snow is hard as ice and falling on it face first can be BAD

 My worry was that it would leave a sign where the skin had been scratched away, so we took great care to not have a crust form and kept it covered and clean.

Her eye was swollen for a few days, which bothered her more than the skinless part, but it got better every day.

In a week the skin has formed and today she went to school without the band-aid, only protective cream.  

And I got some more grey hairs. =) All's well that ends well though.
