This is my favourite mug, and the one I ALWAYS use for tea... it's chipped, and silly but it has just the right ratio of width and height!

Time flies!

Time flies and it never seems to be enough for blogging and even for taking nice photos with the new camera. But in exactly two months time we''ll be flying to Finland for Christmas!!!! Can't wait...

This summer a friend =) gave me a skein of Pukkilu from http://www.handu.fi/shop/ . I started socks and I started fingerless gloves, but this what my Pukkilu yarn turned into... #09 Eyelet Cap from Vogue Knitting ... Don't ask me why Aurora wears it pulled down , but the yarn is beautiful and the hat a quick knit!

And this is Kit by Kim Hargreaves that I started in Helsinki this summer and then had to wait for more yarn to be sent...It's made with Rowan RYC Cashsoft Aran and it is soooo soft! I absolutely LOVE the stitch, almost the same as the sleeves in Pyorre by Mari Muinonen / tikru ...

This was in the window of Max&co, and although I'm not a poncho person, this appealed to me..., so I took a photo of it flat...

And since it's been rainy for two days now... I'll show you Oliver's favourite place to watch the rain... he controls the street from there!

And last but not least, Ilu's Pukkilu yarn has finally decided what it wants to become! It tried being a sock, it tried being a fingerless glove, and now it finally is almost ready, as the Eyelet cap from Vogue Knitting Fall 2009...

New Camera- New Life

Spaghetti and meatballs!

First you put numbers two and four to work in the kitchen rolling meatballs...

and then you end up with a HUGE pile of meatballs and all you have to do is cook the spaghetti!

First Day of School- Fourth Grade

Number 4 is already in 4th grade, she'll be 9 in December, and I miss her already! I hope she had a nice day and comes home happier than when she left this morning!

Bookshelf

This is one of our bookshelves, lots of cookbooks, lots of knitting books, some art and some miscallaneous... I actually just reorganized it all last week, so now you see it like this, but unfortunately it doesn't stay that way! =)

Shawl of Cables by Mari Muinonen

This has been ready some days, but I was hoping to get some photos of someone wearing the shawl... no such luck, it's simply too hot and humid, and I can't get the daughter to touch this warm woolly shawl!
It was a pleasure to knit and it's a beauty... Yet another beautiful pattern from Mari!
The shawl is for my mother, and knit in Rowan Cocoon.

Too big teeth, too small jaw!

These 'little' teeth were torn out of Number 3's mouth today! Look at the size of the roots!?!? He has been blessed with my big teeth and my husband's small jaw, so in order to fit everything something had to be taken out!

I spent a sleepless night worrying and an hour and a half at the dentist getting still more grey hairs! Matteo is brave, and has been through a lot of medical things in his 16 years, but some tears were shed! Growing up into being a man is so hard at times, but he's well on the way! =)

20 years today!

20 years ago, at 15:03 , this lovely girl made me a mother and the happiest person in the world!

The Zinzulusa Pool

This the pool where i go so often! It's filled with sea-water and there are stairs that take you down to the sea, and you really have a stunning view while you sit by the pool! And my little one has so much fun there ...

There's a terrible heat-wave in Italy... not nice, but the peaches are gorgeous!!! Big and sweet and juicy!
