Le Cesine - Rare family outing!

Since the cave-man has worked in his hotel every weekend since forever, we rarely have had the pleasure of Sunday outings... now we can!!! =)

With Minerva feverish, and two cars (we don't fit in one anymore) we took off to the Cesine national park where the local WWF had organized some gathering...

We had five Nikons and one video camera with us... these are my photos! :

The party afterwards!

We had invited some very dear friends for a lovely buffet after the church function and loads of good food and wine!
Salmon: Heaps and heaps of gravad lax which we had prepared two days before, everyone LOVED it!

The salads: lentil and goat's cheese, pasta with pesto and oven-rosted tomatoes, bulghur and feta and saffron-scented chicken pilaf... there was also a wonderful coleslaw but no photo!

And flourless choclatecake, strawberries, whipped cream

and a fruitcake!

La Prima Communione

Sunday May 16th Minerva had her first communion...

Springtime!

Spring has arrived... our terrace is clean and the flowers are blooming!

The perfect Mail Day!!

The first package was from my ♥ friend... alpaca in a practically PERFECT grey, a gorgeous Handu yarn, salty locorice and a lovely wooden spoon ...
W O N D E R F U L !!!


and the second package was from Tuulia, custom dyed for a Kal to make the Akimbo shawl... what lovely colours here too...



Perfect mail day, definitely! And both packages had been sent on Monday, so it only took them four days! =)

The painting started

   All the plants have been moved from the front of the house and from the terrace, and the painting           started on the 4th... let's see when they finish...

  And the plants invade half the street...

KAHELIVAIHTO PAKETTI... ♥

This colourful box was waiting for me when I came home today! The mailman had left it on the porch because he knows that I'd hate to wait until tomorrow!

I opened the box immediatly (no patience whatsoever!) and pulled out this lovely postcard... Helsinki in the summer♥♥♥

Look at all the stuff that was inside!!!!! The theme of the exchange was even numbers and 27 euros (yeah, right) and the sender was not to reveal her identity in the package...

First I pulled out a beautiful skein of Finnish eco wool, a skein of lace weight ...

And look at all the goodies!!! All finnish and all YUMMY!!!! I'll never be able to hide these from the kids! And all were in pairs!

Then two little envelopes from Succaplokki... four stitchmarkers and a WIP, which I didn't have!

Then I pulled out two tin boxes... one is a hand-cream and the other a candybox cover... both will end up in my bag... ♥ and a lemon-oat soap as well that smells SO good! (I love lemons)

And last, but not least, under all these incredible things, there lay ten (yes, TEN) little skeins of Finnish fibre to spin in a wonderful natural colour. I think I'll sleep with these... =)

So... guess who's really really happy today???

I immediatly went to the computer on Ravelry and to the Kahelit group and tiik a little look around... and guessed right on the first go! Thank you to Hanna for THE PERFECT PACKAGE!!!

I don't really know how I guessed, more intuition than braincells...=)

The best part of Spring!

April 7th...Damage done...

     This was the damage done yesterday by my daughter... nobody got hurt so I guess it's okay...

The daughter aka Easter Bunny, got herself this bag... and it suits her very well, I think! =)

The Easter Bunny brought me a present too... The Mad Hatter bag!!!

The Easter Treasure Hunt!

Every Easter Minerva prepares something for the Easter Bunny... this year it was celery.
And in the morning the celery was gone, and there was a rolled up piece of paper... Clue 1!

There was a poem, and a riddle, which took us to my car!






















And Clue 2... with a few eggs...

Clue 3 was down in the garden... all four kids ...      

This took us to Clue 4, which was in my sewing box!!!

... and then in the shower!!!

            ... and finally to our kitchen door...

                     above which there were four beautiful Easter eggs!
